Helen Flanagan was left in tears as she revealed what holds her back when dating.

The actress, 34, reflected on the breakdown of her 13-year-old Scott Sinclair and how it has affected her trying to find love again. She has put her trust in the Celebs Go Dating experts to help her find her feet in the dating world. Helen has already had success on the show, having kissed her first date.

However, Helen has admitted the realities of being a mum-of-three on the dating scene have been hard on her. In a sit-down chat with the dating experts, they shared how during the date mixer Helen told her potential suitors that she is a mum. They asked if she noticed she mentions being a mum in her conversations and why she does it.

Helen admitted: “I don’t know, sorry, I think it is just…” She then started to well up as she added: “It’s fine, I know I do it but I don’t know why. I don’t know if I feel anyone is really going to love me. I know my ex treated me bad, and even though he could be an idiot he loved me. I just feel, I don’t know if any other man because I have got three kids is going to see me for more than just sex. I just say it first because I am aware of it. I think it is just an insecurity.”

The former Coronation Street actress continued: “I just think men will think, ‘Oh she is fit but I would never wife her because she has got three kids’.” Expert Anna Williamson shared: “We understand it is painful. What this tells me is that this is either a perceived learnt behaviour that is your self-esteem or somebody or other man have planted.”

Helen, who has three kids Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, three with ex Scott, replied: “I definitely, 100% think I talk about my kids a lot because I don’t actually want to talk about me. It’s like, ‘Oh God I have got to talk about me now’. I don’t want to really talk about me.” She confessed: “I don’t know how not to do that though,” as the experts reassured her they will teach her tips for her next dates.

During the conversation, Helen also opened up about her romance with ex-Scott, who she shares her three children with. “We weren’t right for each other,” she shared. “We weren’t compatible anymore. I remember I always used to feel quite invisible with Scott. I feel like I was always fighting to get his attention.” The former Coronation Street star continued: “I remember I always used to feel quite invisible with Scott. I feel like I was always fighting to get his attention. The arguments that we’d have, were just so… it was really sad.”
