Kate Garraway is trying her hand at acting as she’s due for an appearance in Douglas is Cancelled.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, will appear as herself in the new four-part comedy-drama, which will premiere on ITV on Thursday, June 27. Kate will appear in the first episode of the program as Douglas and Madeline pay a visit to the Good Morning Britain studio, where they are interviewed by the TV star over their own news show, Live at Six.

This won’t be Kate Garraway’s first cameo as she appeared as herself in the Keith Lemon comedy La Vida Loca, The Lego Ninjago Movie, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.

News of Kate Garraway’s upcoming acting stint follows her heart-breaking tribute to late husband Derek Draper, as she celebrated Father’s Day for the first time without him on Sunday, June 16.

Taking to social media, Kate shared a picture of her family, captioning: “So yesterday was one of those days the kids & I knew would be tough . #fathersday – the day when everyone wants to celebrate their daddy.”

She added: “We started by visiting Derek’s grave early – and talked about all the amazing things we loved about him, the daft things he did to make us laugh and all the things he has given us that we’ll never forget. We have so much to be grateful for.”

“We’re also so grateful to still have my amazing dad in our lives and Derek’s dad too. Brilliant Papa & Grandad. Then thanks to my fab @global family we went to the #capitalsummertimeball – an amazing day of music & summer joy,” added Kate.

“It was sad coming home & not finding Derek waiting to hear ‘all about it’ as he used to say. But so wonderful that we had him at all. I know for so many yesterday would have been a tough day so here’s to getting through and let’s celebrate all the wonderful fathers & father figures & what they gift us everyday”, she concluded.

Kate has made no secret of her financial struggles, the result of Derek’s care costs, in recent months and she has received help from her pals as she struggles to pay her dues.
