After leading Team USA to their fifth consecutive gold medal with a 98-87 victory over France, James reflected on his future with the national team and made it clear that he doesn’t see himself playing in the Olympics four years from now.



“No, I can’t see myself playing in Los Angeles 2028. I didn’t see myself playing in Paris 2024 either. But four years from now, I can’t see it.”

At 39 years old, James played a pivotal role in securing the gold for Team USA, finishing the final with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals.
