One Piece is currently in the Egghead Island Arc and fans have witnessed several big clashes take place throughout its run. Of course, this arc was certainly lacking in terms of having a big fight that fans could invest hours in, however, One Piece fans never seem to mind the lack of fights because everything else in the story is just on another level. Still, the many clashes that the fans did get to witness on Egghead were incredibly exciting and set things up for the future of the story.

The most recent clash that fans saw in the Egghead Island Arc of One Piece was one between Zoro and V. Nusjuro. This has led many fans to believe that Zoro is on the same level as the Yonko of the One Piece world.

In One Piece chapter 1117, fans got a proper look at Zoro’s clash against V. Nusjuro. Previously, the bald Elder was seen jumping in the air using his Bakotsu power and slicing the entirety of the Labophase in half. He did this using his powerful Supreme Grade Sword, the Shodai Kitetsu. Immediately after, he somehow found his way to the Labophase, and there, his target was to erase all life forms. He eventually came across the ship of the Straw Hat Pirates and wanted to eliminate them. For Nusjuro, this was doubly special, given that this pirate crew belongs to none other than Nika. As he closed in on the ship and prepared to chop it in half, killing everyone on it, Zoro and Jinbe showed up. Together, they combined their powers in an attempt to tackle V. Nusjuro.

I’m not taking a detour. That monster is heading right for you. There’s something special about his presence!!

It was Jinbe who picked up Zoro in the nick of time and used one of his strongest new techniques to throw him over the shoulder and attack Nusjuro. Zoro then made full use of the power that Jinbe gave him and incorporated it into his Rashomon technique. Coating his blades in Conqueror’s Haki, Zoro was able to pull out this incredibly powerful technique that Nusjuro blocked effortlessly with one hand. However, the force behind the throw and the attack combined was such that Nusjuro was pushed back. Meanwhile, Zoro was sent flying by the block and even though Jinbe managed to catch him, they both fell down.

Fans were incredibly excited at seeing Zoro clash with an Elder, especially because they know that these are monstrously powerful individuals. The Elders are as strong as any Yonko, if not stronger, and for Zoro to have a clash with them is certainly a good thing for him. In fact, fans have already seen many clashes with the Elders on Egghead. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone who clashed with an elder is their equal. For instance, Luffy utterly dominated the Elders in his fight against them, yet, he was able to do no substantial damage and, as a result, it cannot be said that Luffy is stronger than them. Sanji was able to blitz Nusjuro and, in many ways, he performed better than even Zoro.

In fact, Nusjuro was wielding his sword with both hands when he tried to attack Bonney and Sanji blocked his Supreme Grade Blade with just his kick, so fast that he couldn’t even react and then give him an uppercut with his leg, making Nusjuro bleed. Nusjuro then retaliated, and it just goes to show that Sanji was a worthy opponent for him as well. Similarly, now, Zoro has clashed with Nusjuro, only in his case, the elder blocked the attack effortlessly, while Zoro had help from Jinbe as well.

Is Zoro Yonko Level?

The idea that Zoro is on the same level as the Emperors is baseless. There is absolutely no denying the fact that Zoro will go on to become one of the strongest individuals in the world of One Piece. In fact, one can say without any doubt that Zoro will go on to become someone in the same league as the Emperors, which is a given, since he’s going to defeat Mihawk at some point in the story.

However, the time for him to reach the same level as the Emperors is not now. Zoro is not the same as the Yonko and it is not even close. Zoro barely managed to defeat King, and even though one might argue that Zoro was able to take care of him effortlessly within a few blows, Zoro’s power was one with a time limit, which is something that he admitted himself.

Bio response detected!! There are too many obnoxious bio responses! – Nusjuro before slicing the Labophase in half.

Had the fight gone on for longer, or if King had used a proper strategy, Zoro could very well have lost that fight and died. Zoro’s control over Enma is still lacking and he cannot even wield it as well as Oden. Zoro is far from the likes of Shanks, Oden, Blackbeard, or even Mihawk. Perhaps if one would compare him to Buggy, then it can be said that Zoro has surpassed one of the Emperors successfully. However, against a true Emperor, he is lacking in terms of power and skill. Zoro is still way off from reaching the same level as them and it will be quite some time until he actually gets there.

Zoro’s Current Level Of Strength

Zoro Is Just Below The Admirals In Terms Of Power

One cannot simply discredit Zoro’s strength. He is a monstrously powerful individual, worthy of his 1.1111 billion berry Bounty. If anything, Zoro deserves a higher bounty because he’s clearly much stronger right now. Zoro can easily hold his own against any Yonko first mate, and at the same time, give quite a challenge to an Admiral as well. But, he still cannot defeat an Admiral, which means that there are still some tests that he needs to be put through. Before getting to an Emperor, Zoro needs to fight someone around the level of an Admiral, and then, he can move to his real target, which is Mihawk.

Zoro might not be as strong as the Yonko right now, but it cannot be said that he won’t be at that level in the future. Zoro’s hunger for power essentially means that he’s destined for greatness in the future. He will go on to become the Strongest Swordsman in the World, and certainly reach a level close to the Yonko.

In fact, one can even say with confidence that Zoro will eventually go on to defeat even Nusjuro. This is a clash that Oda absolutely cannot miss out on in the future. When the Great War begins, it will likely be Zoro who fights against this powerful Elder and defeats him for good. However, that will only come much later in the story. Right now, if these two were to fight, Zoro would be utterly destroyed, along with Jinbe at his side.
