Tommy Fury’s boxing career and his other professional endeavours might be hanging in the balance after he and Molly-Mae Hague announced their split, a PR expert has said.
The beloved Love Island couple, who have a one-year-old daughter together, announced their shock split on social media last week and since then, claims have emerged that Tommy cheated on Molly-Mae multiple times during their five-year relationship. The boxer denies all allegations.
The couple’s break-up came just weeks before the publication of Tommy’s first book, ‘Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury’, in which he opens up on the way he manages his multiple roles as a boxer, TV star, mental health advocate, father, and fiancé – before he and Molly-Mae split up. Since the book’s blurb promises a “candid insight into his life at home ” with his ex-fiancée and their daughter Bambi, publishers are said to be scrambling to find a solution ahead of the publication, as Tommy tries to rebuild his reputation both personally and professionally.

According to PR expert Mark Borkowski, the boxer needs to “surround himself with people who have an aura of legitimacy and respect” while also looking for sympathy. The expert told Mail Online: “The first step is to grab the narrative by the throat. This means getting ahead of any bad press. Tommy should look for sympathy or at least position understanding.
“Look like the victim, not the villain. Cry a bit. Show some scars. Not too much to look weak, but just enough to seem human. A few well-timed public appearances perhaps. Change the look, change the tone. Create a version 2.0 that the public finds refreshing, if not entirely convincing.
“He could surround himself with people who have an aura of legitimacy and respect. Hanging out with sports stars, respected entertainers, gives the impression he is running with the right crowd.”
His book is due to be published in October, but fans can already pre-order it. On Amazon, the price of the book has been slashed from £25 to £12.50 in the wake of his relationship crisis, but fans can also get copies signed by him for £25.
The book promises “unfiltered stories about his experience on Love Island, candid insight into his life at home with Molly-Mae and their daughter Bambi, and a glimpse behind the scenes of what life is like as part of the UK’s most popular family – including never-before-seen personal photos”. The 25-year-old was dumped by Molly-Mae after five years together, with both of them sharing statements on social media.

Tommy denied reports he was seen snogging a blonde Danish woman in a nightclub in Macedonia. However, sources say Molly recently found something “suspicious” on the boxer’s phone, before deciding enough was enough. They said: “She had recently found something suspicious on his phone, but she’s not been very open to her friends about it.”
And a source said the boxer has been left “distraught” by false allegations of cheating, a source has said. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, a spokesperson for Tommy furiously denied the claims. They said: “Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers.”

Announcing their split, Molly-Mae wrote on her Instagram stories last week: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end. I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter.”
She added: “Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years.
“You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks, please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time. I’ll be back when it feels right.”
