Though undrafted in the NBA in 2011, the 34-year-old cager suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
In between, the Tennessee alum had stints in the Chinese Basketball Association and National Basketball League, to name a few.
“Wala pa po siya (sa Pilipinas). Baka Sunday po ang dating niya,” Ayo told One Sports.
Hopson will reinforce a FiberXers side that wound up dead last in the Commissioner’s Cup and the Philippine Cup last season.
Converge, though, has renewed hope after tabbing Justine Baltazar in the recently-concluded PBA Season 49 Rookie Draft.
An MPBL champion and Most Valuable Player with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns, Baltazar is seen as the final piece that will prop up the FiberXers’ sagging fortunes.
