Inside Ryan Seacrest’s ‘VIP treatment’ on the set of Wheel of Fortune
New host Ryan Seacrest is reportedly receiving luxury treatment during his stint on the long-running game show.
Seacrest, who replaced Pat Sajak as host for the current season, has a parking spot for his $400k Aston Martin, just steps from the stage where the show is films, The U.S. Sun claims.
There are reportedly just four parking spots outside the Stage 11 doors at the Sony Studios lot in Los Angeles, CA and they are reserved for the show’s bigwigs.
Other crew members must park in the garage on the other side of the 45-acre lot – and have to walk or use their bike if they want to get around the expansive area.
A source told The U.S. Sun that luckily for the American Idol host, he is able to park his custom matte black Aston Martin, which would retail for close to $400k with all the bells and whistles, just outside the door.
The outlet also claimed the show’s co-host Vanna White, 67, parks her red Porsche SUV beside her new co-star.
Ryan and Vanna are also permitted to arrive later to set than other crew members, it is alleged.
The pair are the only members of staff who are allowed to sneak away backstage for a break during filming.
Vanna is often seen stepping behind the letterboard and it is claimed that she does this in a bid to know what the next puzzle is going to be.
Between three and six episodes of the show are filmed per day and between games Ryan and Vanna head backstage to get an entire new wardrobe – so viewers believe the game was filmed on a different day.
It is claimed Vanna, who often dons evening gowns, does not get to keep her dresses as they are returned to their designer after filming is finished.
Makeup-artists frequently powder Ryan’s nose or fix Vanna’s lipstick between takes, the source said.
During breaks, a fresh water bottle with a straw is also brought out to Ryan and Vanna, it is claimed.
Seacrest has received mixed reviews from viewers, with some praising him for his energetic style, while others have slated him over him making a series of blunders.
A source claimed last month that Ryan was willing to put in the work to earn a place “out of” Pat’s shadow.
They said: “You have to feel for Ryan Seacrest because he’s willing to work in Pat’s shadow for longer than he expected he would have to when he signed up to take over Wheel.”
