The Lakers are still connected to players who may enhance their prospects in several essential areas as they go through an excruciatingly sluggish summer. Apart from rumors that the team may acquire Jonas Valanciunas at the next trade deadline, they are still in the running for an Eastern Conference forward.

The Lakers are among several clubs interested in Nets forward Cam Johnson, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints:

“Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Bojan Bogdanovic are the three forwards teams around the league are labeling as the next names to be on the move. Out of this grouping of players, Johnson is the one generating the most interest. In addition to the Kings inquiring about Johnson, the Rockets, Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and San Antonio Spurs have been linked to the former first-round pick, sources said.”

He further added, “Even though he didn’t quite perform as many Nets fans were hoping. I still think that’s a great contract. To be making low 20s while being a starter, those are pretty good contracts.”

The 28-year-old averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.8 steals per game across 58 games (47 starts) for Brooklyn. In addition, he made 44% of his field goals, 39% of his three-pointers, and over 79% of his free throws. Last July, Johnson agreed to a $94.5 million, four-year contract.

However, because the Nets are now formally in rebuild mode, they may let him go to accumulate future assets.

LeBron James Shares His Thoughts On Bronny James’s Improvement In The NBA Summer League

Recently, LeBron James gave his son Bronny James accolades for his outstanding Summer League play. LeBron has been avidly watching Bronny’s games from a distance, even though he cannot attend in person.

Bronny demonstrated his promise in a recent game. He helped the Lakers defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers by scoring 13 points on 5 of 10 shooting. He also pulled down five rebounds, dished out three assists, and blocked two shots. Bronny had improved significantly from his rocky start to the Summer League season with his second straight solid game.

Recent performances by Bronny have demonstrated his potential as a defensive and attacking weapon. Even if his shooting has improved, he still has excellent defensive instincts and self-control on that end of the court.

With the help of his teammates and father, Bronny has the potential to establish an extensive career in the NBA. As he develops, his performance will be keenly monitored. LeBron’s optimism about his kid’s future confirms that Bronny can succeed despite the high expectations and pressure of being the son of an NBA superstar.
